About the Event

Join us THIS SATURDAY (9/5) as the Kaotic drumline leads us in celebration of Black lives. In the usual Beverly Farmers Market lot, you’ll have a chance to support Black-owned businesses & talent as we replicate the feel of an authentic Chicago block party. Don't miss out on a chance to enjoy music by DJ Mike P, great food, exciting raffles, voter registration, a double Dutch contest, a bouncy house for the kids, and MORE!

To add on to the celebratory theme of this event, we will also be announcing the recipients of the annual Beauty and Brains Organization Scholarship, and providing the opportunity for one Black female college student attendee to be awarded one, as well!

This is a family friendly event for all ages, so please spread the word. As we gather in community to celebrate Black lives, we will also be following COVID-19 safety precautions to protect Black lives during this pandemic.

The block party will begin promptly at 2pm. Please post the flyers on social media & send to friends/family directly to help us spread the word! There is strength in numbers, so we need as many people out in support as possible! We can’t wait to see y’all there!

If you know any other Black businesses or Black entertainers who would like to promote their brand/talent during the event, please have them contact us directly at There will be a ton of media coverage for the event, so we hope to be able to provide great exposure for small businesses & entertainers within our community.

Any donations for supplies can be sent through CashApp to: $beautyandbrainsorg or Zelle to:

Disclaimer: While there will be police supervision and we will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the protestors, Beauty and Brains cannot be held liable- every individual is responsible for their actions.
